With over 35 years’ industry experience, Rod’s considerable skill and expertise was recognised by the Financial Planning Association with a National Value of Advice Award in 2006. In 2009 Rod received an FPA Fellow Award for his many years of highly regarded service to the financial planning industry.

A long-time resident of Hobart’s eastern shore, Rod is passionate about his local community and business affairs.

Doug has over 40 years’ experience in the financial services industry. For the past 15 years, he has provided specialist advice and ongoing service to the medical profession in Tasmania, resulting in Aequis’ position as the preferred adviser for AMA members.

Doug is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has held board positions within the Tasmanian sporting community over the past three decades.

Nick’s focus is on empowering his clients to make smart and informed decisions with their money and ensure they achieve their future vision. He specialises in providing advice to medical and sporting professionals and small business owners who often find it difficult to devote the necessary time to focus on what is most important to them. Nick values a healthy and active lifestyle with his family and is also involved in coaching and developing our future AFL stars via the AFL TAS State Academy.

Angela has worked in the financial planning industry for 12 years and her particular interest is in pre-and post-retirement plans. She has specialist knowledge of the RBF, which is the Tasmanian State Government Superannuation Fund. Highly committed to all her clients, Angela was a national and state winner in the 2007 Financial Planning Association (FPA) Value of Advice Awards, recognising her professionalism and the high value of advice she offers to her clients. Angela is currently seeking to help those experiencing the difficulty of moving loved ones into nursing home care.

Jackie has over 21 years’ experience in both the Australian and South African financial service industries. She has been practicing in Tasmania for 9 years and her specialist skills include Self Managed Superannuation Fund strategies, pre-retirement planning and structuring sound financial futures for her clients. She is active in community events, a keen runner and a regular gym enthusiast.

Matt joins the Aequis team with three years’ experience in the financial advice industry. He has recently completed the Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and is just one subject away from completing the Certified Financial Planning program. Matt is a great adventurer and his peak adventure moments include playing water polo in Europe, snowboarding in Canada and backpacking in India! His latest challenge is attempting to hit a golf ball in a straight line. Not as easy as it sounds…

Sandra is also a member of our fantastic administration team. She has recently completed her Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) in order to provide even greater assistance to our clients. When she is not hard at work assisting our advisers to provide great client service, she enjoys spending time at her local beach and is currently enjoying the process of renovating her home.

Steve has held senior management positions across Australia and is a graduate of the Mt Eliza School of Management and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Steve’s loves include his family, bushwalking, the performing arts, sailing, astronomy and growing berry fruits. He is a regular exhibitor at the biennial Australian Wooden Boat Festival.

Elspeth brings exceptional client service skills to her role as our Administration Manager. She has recently completed a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) and a Diploma in Business Management. Elspeth is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day financial transactions and account management, is passionate about client service and also enjoys ballroom dancing.
